Mona Lotl: axolotl poster
A Renaissance masterpiece, re-sat by an axolotl. A leucistic axolotl sits for the world's most famous portrait, hands folded on a stone ledge, with a hazy valley of lakes, a bridge and mountains behind. Its wide smile stands in for the famous one. For axolotl keepers: matte paper, giclée print, 12 × 16 or 18 × 24 in, portrait.

About this design
A leucistic axolotl sits for the world's most famous portrait: hands folded on a stone ledge, a dark shawl over a green dress, that knowing smile, and a hazy valley of lakes, a bridge and mountains behind.
The axolotl's own wide smile stands in for the famous one, and the old-master haze is redrawn with cottagecore's soft ink line, stipple texture, earthy palette and paper grain.
The real animal: In the wild, axolotls survive only in the lake and canal system of Xochimilco near Mexico City, and they are assessed as critically endangered. (Source: Wikipedia)
