About this design
Made by keepers, for keepers. Every animal is checked for the right feet and toes.
A pink axolotl peeks out of a terracotta pot hide in a glass tank with plants and sand, a shelf above with fairy lights, a small holly wreath with a red bow, a lantern, a book and a teapot, a plaid blanket in one corner and snow outside the window, with 'Home Is Where the Hide Is' in brown lettering across the top, framed by holly and berries.
The real animal: Real-life axolotl: in the wild it survives only in the lake and canal system of Xochimilco near Mexico City, and it is now assessed as critically endangered. (Source: Wikipedia)
