Dusting

Dusting is coating feeder insects in a fine calcium (and sometimes vitamin/D3) powder just before feeding, to supply minerals amphibians can't get from insects alone.

Insects are low in calcium, so regular dusting is how keepers prevent metabolic bone disease. How often, and whether the powder includes D3, depends on the species and its lighting — check the care sheet.
