About Bognook — A Cozy, Honest Home for Amphibian Folk

Bognook is a cozy corner for amphibian folk — a warm, honest home for the keepers, the artists, the froggy-aesthetic lovers, and everyone who just thinks a salamander is a very good little guy.

Amphibians are everywhere in our culture right now — axolotls, cottagecore frogs, poison dart frogs, hellbenders, the lot — but good, honest information is scattered, and the community can feel bone-dry, baby-ish, or (worst of all) elitist and shaming. We wanted somewhere different:warm and trustworthy at the same time. Care you can actually rely on, delivered like a kind friend who happens to know a lot — never a lecture, never a look-down.

Our promise: ask us anything — we'll help you honestly, kindly, and in time to matter, and we'll never make you feel small for not knowing. There are no silly questions here. 💚

What we do

  • Care guides — honest, beginner-friendly husbandry for axolotls, frogs, tree frogs, dart frogs, salamanders, newts and toads.
  • Free keeper tools — a symptom checker, a water interpreter, setup planners and more, built to calm the panic and protect the animal (never to replace a vet).
  • Aesthetic — cottagecore-frog printables and art to make your world a little mossier.
  • Conservation — why amphibians are struggling, and small things that genuinely help.

What we believe

  • The animal comes first — welfare over everything. We'd rather send you to a vet than keep you on our page.
  • Honest over impressive — we check our facts against real sources, we say when we're unsure, and we never fake authority.
  • Everyone's welcome — the beginner, the nervous, the "dumb question" asker. Especially them.
  • For the animals, for real — captive-bred over wild-caught, always. Amphibians are the most threatened animals on Earth, and people protect what they love — so we help more people fall for them.

Want the details? Here's exactly how we research, source & fact-check every guide — the authorities we check against, our triage-not-diagnose rule, and how we handle corrections.

Where we're going

Bognook is growing more tools, more guides, a warm little community, and a small shop of original amphibian goods — all in service of getting more people to love these little animals. If that sounds like your kind of bog, join the burrow and hop in. 🐸
